April 2014 Horoscopes

April 2014 is a mega month astrologically. Two eclipses and a rare, potent planet line-up means it's a meaty kind of month that can bring out the best in you, as well as some lasting change and expansion in your life. So don't miss out; stay present, stay positive, and watch how the universe can deliver despite any challenge.

Aries
There’s a slow, steady build-up for this month’s unusually powerful planet pattern on the 21st. The tension is tangible in certain situations, and the key is acceptance of yourself and others. It’s hard not to react negatively (especially when they deserve it), but now more than ever, that’s what’s required (also especially 7th, 8th, 15th and 16th). That said, April is a positively pivotal month, right from the first week when things move forward in new and unexpected ways. Relationships, contracts and agreements also have significant, long-term developments, highlighting the themes of balance and equilibrium playing out in different ways now for you.

Taurus
The eclipse in your sign on the 29th is like a welcome light at the end of the tunnel; nice after taking things on faith, to feel rays of clarity and understanding. That is the power of a new moon eclipse in your sign. Before though there’s the tunnel to traverse, where it might feel like circumstances are presenting you with limited options but remember it’s not just what you are receiving, it’s how you respond that makes all the difference to where you go from here. Tension and pressures might mount up by the 21st, when a mega powerful planet pattern finally clicks into place bringing things to a head. This is when keeping the faith really matters.

Gemini
The planets are building to an unusually intense formation by the 21st, symbolizing how you’ve felt pulled in different directions for some time, and also how badly you want harmony in all the different directions, not just some. Perhaps the planet message is that it’s possible for you to have it all, and that the universe is planning it that way, but to have faith in the transformation by accepting each stage of the journey even/especially before reaching your destination. It’s important to not lose yourself in your thoughts this month; stay present even through stormy situations and they clear much faster. Minimize analysis and breathe from the heart.

Cancer
The full moon eclipse on the 15th focuses on home and family situations, as well as future plans and ambitions. Eclipses magnify whatever emotions matters most to you, and keeps it all relevant for weeks or months to come, so as tension and pressure peaks in many situations during April (around 21st), after weeks or months of build-up, it’s important to keep heart and mind open to the best outcome. There’s so much that can’t be controlled during April, except your attitude, toward yourself and to others around you. Make an effort to stay on the positive side of what’s happening and the rewards are huge.

Leo
April will bring (amongst other things) much clarity and definition about the future. The solar eclipse on the 29th symbolizes a whole new launch-pad coming into place for new plans and ambitions, especially for steps up the career ladder, public profile and reputation raising. The full moon eclipse on the 15th is big for broadening horizons, whether through travel or education; while the main momentum of the month revolves around the 21st, and the high impact planet line-up that clicks slowly into place at that time. Exactly how it will play out is unpredictable, but change and transformation of some sort is inevitable.

Virgo
There’s another long-term line-up of planets active for April, suggesting deep and meaningful experiences dominate the month. Last time was November, so look back to what happened then as it’s now the next chapter. For example, more than one sticky or slow situation might be coming to a head; anything that has been on the backburner, at deadlock or stalemate is being pushed to breaking or breakthrough point by around the 21st, but especially during the final week. Change and transformation is usually out of our comfort zone, something we choose to avoid, yet this is likely to feel a big relief, as mounting tensions and pressures will lessen with the move.

Libra
The importance of justice being served (at last!), as well as themes of causes and effects, consequences of actions, balance and rebalancing are everywhere in situations, especially in key areas of your life like partnerships and home-life. A full moon eclipse in your sign on the 15th is about looking long-term and developing plans regarding all this; maybe some inspired action is called for, or maybe not just now as there’s plenty of time and space coming to make the move the right one. The 21st is the culmination of a long slow connection between important planets in your chart. Tension abounds, but you can choose your mood and your response. Stay soft-hearted as it’s where true strength really lies.

Scorpio
Another step in your personal makeover is revealed over the coming weeks. It’s been going on in stages since summer 2012, and as Scorpio is an all or nothing kind of sign, it’s been about a total transformation of you and your lifestyle. While it often feels like the big stuff is out of your control (especially during the unusually strong planet line-up around the 21st), looking back over the past couple of years you can see how even the big stuff was working for your transformation, not against it. So the message for all this month (but most especially the final week) is trust the process.

Sagittarius
It’s been quite an intense journey already into 2014, and it’s not going to lessen for April. In fact your ruler Jupiter is involved in one of the most powerful planet patterns for a very long time; it’s so powerful that even though the planets align on the 21st, chances are you will be feeling the onset all month. The symptoms are a tangible tension and pressure in situations, with unexpected twists and turns to events, and both highs and lows that feel like deep and meaningful learning curves. Don’t waste a second of this fabulous potential for change and transformation (especially during the final week of the month), dive in and embrace your fate with faith.

Capricorn
The desire for change in key areas of your life is building in intensity all month, symbolized by a mega-powerful pattern of planets that slowly connect around your chart by the 21st. There are pressure points in important relationships, in home and family connections, and in links to career or future plans (especially midmonth), and the tension builder is in the urge to act toward certain changes, yet finding circumstances aren’t accommodating. Timing is something that Capricorn is fabulous at, so trust the timing rather than pushing things too hard into place. It’s happening for sure, just not always to your schedule.

Aquarius
Lovely new beginnings linked to home and family are symbolized by the long-term looking new moon eclipse on the 29th, but before that there’s plenty to get prepared for as this is likely to be the kind of month that you look back on with admiration for how you handled the demands and pressures, and how you sorted through the competing priorities to make space for what matters most to you. Events just keep on having that deep, meaningful, unexpected or revolutionary quality to them; maybe culminating by the 21st when the planets connect in rare formation with powerful long-term effects. Love and let live is the mantra of this revolution.

Pisces
With the strong, long-term focus of two eclipses (15th and 29th), and the most powerful pattern of planets there’s been in a very long time (culminating around the 21st), April is indeed a month to be reckoned with. But Venus moves into your sign from the 5th, so don’t underestimate the power of your fuzzy warm-heartedness and rose tinted glasses this month, as no matter how potent you perceive any opposition, it’s harmony and bridge building rather than pushy or sharp action that will stand the real test of time. So fear no challenge that April can throw at you, just imagine a better solution and don’t take your eyes from that prize.

March 2014 Horoscopes

Aries
21st March – 20th April
From the 1st, and until May, planet Mars retrogrades (appears to move backwards) under a powerful, reflective and healing new moon, suggesting that for you there’s now big turning points in relationships, agreements and contracts, born from your strong urge for changes. Remember that changes of approach or direction can be exactly what’s needed to refresh your perspective and open you up to places you were struggling to find; though this might be hardest to believe on the 17th when there’s pressure and tension about, and easiest into the final week, especially under an exceptionally dynamic new moon of new beginnings, on the 30th.

Taurus
21st April – 21st May
It’s a month of makeovers, restructuring and reorganisation in key areas of your life, especially career and work environment, but also relationships, contracts and agreements. There’s also a renewed focus on health so perhaps a return to a discarded fitness plan or a health review is coming up. You are profile raising too as your public image becomes more important to you, and communication in general moves forward for the first time in months. The pushy and unpredictable new moon on the 30th can sweep clean old clutter in an instant so don’t take anything for granted or what’s being neglected will go too.

Gemini
22nd May – 21st June
It’s easy to see and feel things are moving forward for you again this month, especially when it comes to relationships and agreements, so in certain areas you begin a period of re-assessing your priorities and reconnecting with what really matters to you. An important new moon on the 1st reinforces this, suggesting long-term plans and commitments are becoming more defined through your assessment process. Friendships, group involvement and social gatherings are all highly starred for March; there’s a theme of things starting up again, a return to old haunts, or important reunions. Basically, where there’s fun there are meaningful encounters.

Cancer
22nd June – 22nd July
There’s a very healing new moon on March 1st that suggests new horizons, literally or intellectually, are coming up that answer longstanding questions. There’s a sense of moving forward again, for the first time since late last year, and there’s also a turning point in a home and family situation now too as things are happening from now until May that move you (maybe literally) in different directions in that area of your life. From the 20th Career, status and long-term plans have got your attention, and very much so around the 30th, when a powerful new moon with revolution on its mind inspires you to take a stand for what you want.

Leo
23rd July – 23rd August
Going with the flow is a good idea for March, especially during a tender and loving new moon on the 1st, which brings bright ideas and expansion to situations involving shared resources, and a new sense of trust and intimacy in relationships. You are in the mood to sort out home and family matters, and heck, even the whole neighbourhood if they need it too. Communication and education are hugely important till May, and travel too; especially around a particularly powerful new moon on the 30th, when broadening your horizons has never felt so freeing, or so revealing.

Virgo
24th August – 22nd September
You are making progress with problem-solving right from the start, and as this is the month for new beginnings in relationships, this might be the month to meet a match. Finance and resources, and also contracts and agreements, are in the spotlight till May; related to this is an important turning point, a need to reach a balance, and a brand new start of some sort, all before March ends. The annual full moon in your sign on the 16th magnifies your emotions on all this; it’s a bit like giving yourself a second chance at some New Year resolutions (pick any year).

Libra
23rd September – 23rd October
This is a significant month for Libra. On the 1st, under a health and healing focused new moon, your relationship planet Mars retrogrades (appear to move backwards) in your sign, until May. This suggests an important period of re-balancing and re-orientating yourself when it comes to key partnerships, contracts and agreements. Added to this, there’s a power-packed relationship-themed new moon on the 30th which indicates new choices and paths emerging, and that you’re in the mood to fight for freedom and fairness wherever you see imbalance; the success of which requires you to begin with the most important relationship of all: the one you have with yourself.

Scorpio
24th October – 22nd November
Your most creative side is in full flow as March starts, and the planets support any venture you sincerely have your heart set on. This includes adventures that broaden your intellectual and physical horizons, as any delays or obstacles in that area have recently been lifted, and the only limitations you now encounter are self-imposed via self-doubt or confidence issues. Working through these issues can take time, so allow for that, but all reviews and assessments will help sort your priorities, and help bring you the clarity and confidence of renewed and refocused intention. The new moon on the 30th is a powerful symbol of this process underway.

Sagittarius
23rd November – 21st December
From the 6th there’s a turning point, as your ruling planet Jupiter moves forwards for the first time since November. It symbolises improved clarity about relationships and emotional attachments, while trust and intimacy deepens and you feel more open and relaxed when it comes to shared resources. Your friendships and group involvement also reach a turning point at that time too, as until May you are reviewing your priorities, and also reactivating old contacts that will one day move you forward on new projects with links to the past. An utterly dynamic new moon on the 30th pushes you firmly in the right direction on this.

Capricorn
22nd December – 20th January
Some situations are suddenly moving forward with ease while others seem to suddenly be taking backward steps. The message is to trust the timing; relax and go with your changes of mind and others changes of direction, especially regarding communication at the start of the month. There’s a turnaround in a relationship or agreement that feels positive, and from now until May you’re reviewing and restructuring long-term plans, especially linking to career, as well as home and family matters. Also, a spirited new moon on the 30th feels full of enterprising solutions and dynamic new beginnings, especially linked to home and family.

Aquarius
21st January – 18th February
Some situations are moving forward, while some are stalling or in reverse. Maybe it’s a lesson in stepping back and going with the flow, even if it’s a disorganised kind of flow; but once Venus moves into your sign on the 5th it’s going to feel a lot sweeter managing any direction or turning point. The full moon on the 17th emphasises this, and also indicates more communication and clarity coming your way, particularly if you’re returning to plans involving travel or education (or both). Final week (especially new moon on 30th) is just amazing for all communication; it’s fast and furious, where past meets present for courageous new beginnings.

Pisces
19th February – 20th March
There’s a really special new moon in your sign on the 1st. It has a strong theme of healing, and as ever with Pisces, there’s a little magic and a few miracles there too. It takes faith and belief to activate all this, and you have access to that in abundance, especially from the 6th when lucky Jupiter moves you forward for the first time since November when it comes to matters of the heart, and (therefore) all your creative projects. Relationships are coming back into balance, as are shared finances, then a truly dynamic pattern of planets at the end of the month indicates a bold and brave investment.

Jonathan Cook on Brand versus Snow

I really love what Jonathan Cook has to say about the recent interview clash between Russell Brand and Jon Snow. Brand is certainly fit for the job of wordy Olympic athlete in dialogue and debate given his Gemini Sun and Aries moon.
It also reminds me of what goes on with the sceptic versus the spiritually orientated, when the mainstream science-minded smugness assumes the only stable and 'sensible' reality is their own and the ones who include spirit realms as a day to day common-sense reality must be a charlatan or in denial of the truth and holding delusions that should be apologised for. I love that Russell Brand won't be shamed by the old order....

Cook writes:
"The lessons of Russell Brand’s TV clash 15 February 2014 .............Russell Brand is back, with another incredible performance – and that is what it has to be, given the paradigm of debate he is forced into. This 15-minute interview with Ch4′s Jon Snow starts slowly, focusing on Brand’s efforts to change Britain’s primitive drugs laws. But it rapidly widens out into a fascinating ideological clash between the old order and the new. Again, the old order wants to discredit his argument that we should not legitimise our corrupt political systems by voting for them. The most interesting thing about these confrontations is watching Brand’s skilful manoeuvring as he refuses to allow himself to be intellectually sidetracked or cornered. It’s like watching an Olympic athlete. He has to use every skill in his considerable emotional and intellectual armoury: humour, matiness, intelligence, quick-wittedness, compassion, muted anger. So few of us have quite such a complete range of talents. This looks like hard work even for Brand. The reason is not that Snow is intellectually superior or has the better arguments; it is simply an illustration of power. Snow is representing the elite consensus, the version of reality that we are presented with day in, day out by the corporate media. Snow does not have to make his case, because his case is assumed to be the rational, sensible one. He can simply concentrate on various lines of attack. Brand, on the other hand, has both to turn complex, rarely expressed, non-intuitive arguments into soundbites and to ward off Snow’s attempts to discredit him at the same time. That is hard, exhausting work – and one senses how difficult it is even for Brand. Nonetheless he joins the ranks of the tiny number of people, like Noam Chomsky and Glenn Greenwald, who can do this against these very experienced enforcers of consensus. The treatment of Brand in this and other interviews by the corporate media is a useful reminder that the system is precisely designed to silence, intimidate and marginalise those who challenge the manufactured consensus. Those like Brand, Chomsky and Greenwald whom the corporate media cannot easily ignore but who can also stand their ground against the onslaught provide a rare chance for us to understand that media debate does not have to be this way". http://www.jonathan-cook.net/blog/2014-02-15/the-lessons-of-russell-brands-tv-clash/

2014 - Year of the Horse

From my new Facebook page, Bond With The Moon.

February 2014 Horoscopes

Aries

21st March – 20th April
Matters of the heart are important this month, but career and long-term commitments have also got your attention because change is underway and your only job is to trust the process and allow changes to work for you and through you. This is hardest around the 11th, when it feels difficult to see and sense support for your hopes and dreams from usual sources, so look for alternative routes, while not forgetting to look within (especially around 26th). Also a full moon on the 14th is a big symbol of love and of acknowledging love and romance. Friends or your links to groups figure highly in this somehow.

Taurus
21st April – 21st May
A recent turnaround or turning point in how you see certain situations has increased your level of faith and belief that what matters will happen for you. You are looking forward with increased optimism because most importantly, you have your own approval and support, which is the magic ingredient for any successful progress and development. It’s a month for love and romance too; a full moon on Valentine’s Day is about comfort zones, so those looking for love might want to play it safe, while those wanting continued connections find home and hearth a real romantic scene setter.

Gemini
22nd May – 21st June
From 6th to 28th your ruler Mercury is retrograde (appearing to move backwards), so faces or places from the past might become relevant again, especially concerning career, status or long-term plans. There’s also a connection to travel or education after midmonth; perhaps a return to study will benefit career, or travel is important in the equation somehow. Whatever it is, don’t let doubts get the better of you around 11th and 19th; instead make the most of the particularly loved up Valentine’s day, especially relative to yourself as this is the time to recognise and appreciate exactly what your keen clear perspective on all things can give you right now.

Cancer
22nd June – 22nd July
Your new sense of balance and centeredness might be tested around the 11th when powerful dynamics in situations peak and come to a head. Calm and comfortable is what balance feels like, so practice that to stay there. Midmonth opportunity knocks; a bright and shiny full moon sheds light on new resources in the form of spaces and places to move forward towards (love-life is linking to this too), but perhaps timing needs to be trusted on all this for now, as there’s preparation necessary before the ‘real’ movement happens. In other words, simple awareness of new opportunities is another step towards fulfilment of new opportunities.

Leo
23rd July – 23rd August
This is a fabulous month for love and romance, and it all revolves around a heart shaped full moon in your sign on the 14th. But while you’re at the centre of all the action (just where you like to be), you might be too busy midmonth to fully appreciate it,  as Valentine’s looks packed with variety and change in lots of areas of your life (just how you like it to be, mind you). So the beginning and end of February is probably where you’ll have more time for romance, but enjoy the extra effort and energy required as it is opening new doors of opportunity all the time.

Virgo
24th August – 22nd September
From the 6th your ruler Mercury retrogrades (appears to move backwards) in your relationship chart; indicating an important change of mind or perspective regarding key relationships and agreements, as well as a reconnection with people or places from the past. From the 13th, old problems are reviewed with new eyes, and you’re in solution seeking mode, with great success. You are full of drive and direction midmonth, but don’t let anyone knock your confidence around the 19th. Friends and fun are inseparable during the final week; it’s a time of unexpected pleasures and unpredictable developments.

Libra
23rd September – 23rd October
Recently a turning point has been reached that has allowed you to move forward with plans, especially those relating to home and family situations. While that builds momentum, there are a few reminders this month about finding a balance between peace-keeping and being fair on yourself. Harmonious and smooth relationships with others are important to you, but February is about keeping things right with yourself first and then others. Often it takes just that before any kind of harmony is reached with others. In other words you can’t be fair on others if you aren’t being fair on yourself.

Scorpio
24th October – 22nd November
For months you’ve been gradually releasing situations that no longer serve you. February begins with an important turning point regarding this, in that you’re no longer feeling loss is inevitable, and instead that there’s more to gain from the releasing. And while there might be a temporary feeling of restriction at times this month, especially regarding finances or resources, the keyword is temporary, which you know is the truth, and which makes the gains feel sweeter when they come; and they are coming. Restrictions are more noticeable around the 11th, while glimpses of freedom (unpredictable at first) begin to show with more intensity around the 26th.

Sagittarius
23rd November – 21st December
Recently it maybe felt like you were heading for the point of no return in certain situations, perhaps because there was an issue of self-worth or self-respect at stake. But as February begins there’s the definite sense of a turning point having happened in this. Certain relationships might not feel like that at times, but they benefit from communication, especially from the 13th, when going over old ground or revisiting the past is important. After midmonth and especially during the final week it’s hard not to act on impulse, so try to decide if it’s creative individuality or just reactive rebellion that is behind it first.

Capricorn
22nd December – 20th January
At first, February might feel like it’s one step forward and two back, especially around the 11th when a build of tension in situations might make you react instead of respond and then maybe regret it. But given that just now there are some heavy dynamics in many situations, being kind to your own mistakes or misjudgements might be all you can do sometimes. The full moon on the 14th speaks of strength and focus in work and career, as well as in any long-term plans and ambitions, while relationships, especially family bonds are in the spotlight during the final week perhaps with sudden announcements or unexpected development

Aquarius
21st January – 18th February
There’s a relationship themed full moon on the 14th. Love, appreciation and respect are what it’s all about; which means recognising and acknowledging what you love, appreciate and respect in others, while being open to ( feeling deserving of) receiving that from everyone who matters to you. Events around the 11th might make you wonder if that is possible, as pressure and stress seem to be an unavoidable component of many situations right now, but keep the faith. During the final week in particular, bottled up energy can release suddenly and unexpectedly, so don’t bottle up what you don’t want lose control over.

Pisces
19th February – 20th March
While the ways that developments happen in your life right now aren’t always the ways you would choose, there’s no denying that progress is occurring. It might be sudden, unexpected, a tad pressurised, and a rather intense process, but things are developing; noticeably around the 11th, and also during the final week of Feb (especially 26th). From the 18th, the sun is in your sign, which means sunny vibes to warm your heart (very warm and fuzzy around 14th and 23rd), as well as creative surges and inspired light bulb moments (around 28th).

Full Moon in Cancer 16th January 2014

This is the latest post from my Facebook page, Bond With The Moon.
The first full moon of 2014 is at 04.52am, UK time, on Thursday 16th January. It's the annual full moon in Cancer, a sign that links to home and hearth, parenting, children, comfort zones, safe spaces to grow, and safe places to dwell.

Over the next few days, while the moon looks full in the sky, moodiness, neediness or restlessness might be amplified (as well as full moon insomnia) because moon in Cancer especially amplifies emotion, and therefore doubts and fears, around unmet needs or lack of fulfilment.

Be kind to yourself (and others) regarding your hunger for 'more' from life, whatever it might be. Soothe inner doubts and fears of never receiving more or better, as that's just insecurity talking. Instead, talk yourself into comfort and peace of mind regarding what is left to do or receive, or what you don't know how to do or receive.
Allow yourself to feel all feelings; to accommodate and accept them, to be compassionate about your own discomforts, rather than feeding them to silence them with habits such as comfort eating/drinking/shopping etc.

Moon in Cancer is a sensitive, deeply emotional and connecting time; it symbolises both your inner child and inner parent and how the call is to recognise and be both to yourself. Nurture, nourish, shelter, repeat.
