Susan Boyle - Saturn In Virgo? Venus In Aries?

If you haven't seen Susan Boyle's appearance on 'Britain's Got Talent' have a watch right now before reading further: here

Wish I had her chart details as there's something strongly emphasising the healing energy of Pluto in Virgo in her ability to draw all the unkind, cynical, disillusionment right out of us all like squeezing a big spot, leaving us wide open to renewed faith that life really IS a series of sassy sublime moments that are difficult to predict or prepare for, and it's this unpredictability that's actually a source of joy and refreshment rather than something to be guarded about.

The whole thing embodies current planet placements too - Saturn in Virgo in the self contained, mature woman who stands self-approving in the face of massive criticism; rising to the challenge Venus in Aries style: uncompromising and thankfully self-ish enough to maintain self-acceptance rather than be diminished by the sneery suspicion that others are projecting her way. There's also something Neptune in Aquarius/Uranus in Pisces here too, as collectively I think we've been waiting to be won over like this for an awful long time. It answers a deep need for people who can take us beyond the emptiness of conditional approval to unconditional appreciation, which can only happen when what is deemed real, important or necessary about gaining others approval is put to the test. It feels so good to watch Susan win the nation over in such an intense way because it feels so good to watch preconceptions fall away and appreciate another unconditionally. It's satisfying and fulfilling because we're wired that way.

I was gobsmacked by Susan's performance: it brought tears to my eyes. And I think you're dead on with your analysis: astrologically, emotionally, and spiritually. Thanks for sharing.

For every one of us that's felt invisible at times, Susan Boyle made my day...thanks for sharing the link I so needed it this morning.

Ditto with what all of the above said. I felt you nailed it with your words. You really put it perfectly what I had been feeling about another relationship. Watching Susan brought about the same feeling. Thanks for explaining and validating feelings with words.

I can't stop watching this vid, and the way it's affecting the whole world it seems. Millions of hits on Youtube, wellwishers everywhere. She's touched something powerfully in us all. It's a beautiful thing.

I watch the video several times a day. I think it brings all of us joy. The funny thing is, in terms of the whole world, she is more popular than Elaine Paige. I didn't know who Elaine Paige was. I know who Susan Boyle is.

haha!! yes I had thought that... now most people only know Elaine Page through Susan Boyle... it's such a mind blowing story of how bendy reality is.

You've expressed exactly, and so well, what so many are feeling about this lady and her singing, Barbara.

I've just noticed on Marjorie Orr's site that someone said they suspect her birthday (48th) was in the last day or two - no reason given though. :-)

People in the US seem to be even more enthusiastic than in the UK- great comments on several articles over at Huffington Post.

Wikipedia now has her d/o/b as
22 Oct 1961, Barbara, in blackburn, West Lothian.

I'm so glad that people are taking her beyond face value. So she doesn't fit most people's perceptions of appearance but her talent is empowering. I'm thinking she's here to teach us a lesson! Vikki at www.kriyacreate.blogspot.com

Twilight you absolute star!!!! thankyou... she has north node in leo, no surprise there! sun in libra, and mars/neptune in scorps linking to pluto in virgo. I was definately picking up that scorp/pluto vibe. Oh for a birthtime... but this is so interesting thankyou...

We (Americans) insist that she gets her dream. She has that energetic something that very few artists do. Plus she has the same story of being a poor church going child that was made fun of in school like Elvis Presley and Dolly Parton. Who is laughing at Elvis Presley and Dolly Parton now? If she gets on Oprah it's a done deal I think.

Wiki has now changed the d/o/b to 15 June, Barbara!
that's the 3rd date I've seen for Susan! (1 April, 15 June, 22 Oct.)

Barbara Palliser said...

Twilight, I think 15th june sounds good - it's not 1st april because she said she was 'nearly 48', and show went out after 1st april. If I was born in october I wouldn't say i was 'nearly 48' if it was only april.... but the 15th june gives her a venus in taurus/neptune in scorpio tight opposition, t-squared by jupiter in aquarius... Taurus is the voice, and it links nicely with that scorp flavour I pick up on. A mars/uranus conjunction in leo pretty near north node... makes more sense, especially with her just going through her jupiter return... oooh she said she started singing at 12, that is a full jupiter cycle then.. hmmm have to see if there's any other changes then... thanks for the update though.. I would have written an interpretation based on the october one!

Goodness knows where they got the October date from - I wondered if someone had been searching census records and hit upon the wrong Susan Boyle - it's probably not an uncommon name in that part of the UK.

Yes, I agree June seems much more likely. I'll look forward to reading your interpretation. :-)

Barbara Palliser said...

well, now I am thinking about it, April IS still a maybe, as the show is recorded isn't it... hmmm...might hold off an interpretation for a while, haha, see if things change again!

The show "Britain's Got Talent" is pre-recorded. The proof is in this interview with Simon done on April 16th. So when she says she's 47, nearly 48, she's saying it in JANUARY. That makes more sense for an April date than a June or October date. Here's the link:

Excellent analysis Barbara! Congratulations!

Susan made a huge impact in Greece too. Thus, you are so right about this Plutonian massive impact, hitting us deep in our sub-conscious....

It seems like the "Anima Mundi" needed at these particular - cynic, unglorious and myth-less - times something like Susan Boyle to happen....

thankyou Thomas!
I was just thinking yesterday that Susan's rise to stardom is so international that she managed to do in less than week what it took Madonna years of hard graft to do :) and I like that.

btw Thomas, have added your blog to my astrology blog list, it's great! Love the 2012 post :)

She's wonderful! Hope she reaches her zenith without 'make-overs' and advisors. It's special to see someone with her talent clothed in a not so missworld body. Love every minute of this. I'll be watching for your interp on her chart...
