Mercury Retrograde

So Mercury, planet of pathways and communication is retrograde now (appearing to move backwards), and it's a time traditionally associated with glitches and breakdowns and all sorts of palaver. I tried to get online to write about how there has to be a different way to view this, as I do believe the universe is built on positive power, not on energy intent on putting spanners in the works, but I couldn't because my internet connection went down :D

But I will not have it that Mercury retro is just about having to redo, resend, rewrite, reboot, rewire, reconnect, etc etc... there has to be more to it than that, and it has to have a basis in positive energy. So how about thinking of Mercury retro as a time for re-alignment of thought to a more positive perspective? Mercury is the planet of thoughts, and it's thought power that is the creative power behind everything, and the world out-pictures our thoughts and reflects the power of our own mind (mind over matter and all that).

So if you've been having less than kind thoughts about your clunky old computer, or that email you need to write, or you've been thinking you could do with a break, or a change of mind about something; now's the time that you'll reap the reward of your thinking with a nice literal metaphor from the Mercury ruled items around you; for good or ill unless you keep to positive thoughts about how clunky old computers just keep running and running and never let you down...

So far, so good. :) This inspired me to write my own retrograde blog, although, a little more tongue-in-cheek and a little less inspirational. Hope you have a wonderful retrograde period as well!

I also like the positive perspective that Barbara attributes to Mercury retrogrades. Still, as a Virgo, I I feel as though I am losing my mind right now, that people I thought I could trust [again] have . . . ta-da . . . once again shown me that they are not trustworthy. It's been particularly painful and distressing all week.

I just want to get through this cycle of Mercury retrograde with as little negativity as possible. Yes, had the computer problems, and that seems to be on the mend, if not vexing. Yes, I've had the miscommunications about my professional work. That will either work out, or it won't, but it will not be the end of the world for me. And yes, yes, yes, I have had the same old types of run-ins with relatives who can and have shown me that they just cannot be trusted and do not have my well being at heart.

So I guess the "lesson" for me during this retrograde is to be quiet, don't talk so much, let others reveal their less than kind sides, while I watch, take it in, and try to protect myself.

After all, it's not like I haven't been here before!

Thanks Barbara. You DO have a positive perspective.

oh anon, sorry that you've had a tough time there. Is this a uranus pisces 7th solar house polarity thing you think? the shock factor?

this mercury cycle stationed right on my gemini sun. I have had a mercury lesson on being upfront in communication this week. a bumpy ride a bit really, but there's got to be that positive thing born out of it. I won't have it any other way!!!

And Jared, Love your blog!!
