OMG, I have an internet connection at last, after a whole month of disconnection drama (the stern letter is on its way to BT). It's so fabulous being back online I don't know what to do first; write a blog, read a blog, go shopping, see what Martin Lewis has to tell me, or just keep staring admiringly at the little icon that says 'signal strength: excellent'.

Beautiful Barbara, I would like to say welcome back, I am so happy your online again and at full strength to...
Survival without tools is tough. I recently went from dial-up to broadband and my excitement knows no bounds. There IS something soothing about a green blinking light and 'excellent' that makes one a little giddy! Welcome back!
Hello Hello! thanks so much for the welcome :-)
and yes, I am feeling giddy on the freedom rush ha ha
Yes, I was offline for 6 weeks end of 2006. BT spent weeks arranging and then re-arranging specialist engineers to dig up the road. In the end I think it was something simple that could have been sorted all along but they weren't going to admit to that.
It was a pain having to put my blogs on a memory stick and then trot down to the library during its strange opening hours and get my blog up as I wanted it before my 45 mins ran out.
I don't know one person who hasn't a BT related nightmare. I had been free of them for 4 years with my cable, but where I live now has none. My heart sank when I knew I was going to need their landline!
